LOCATION - Lat 43°09'03", long 89°24'07" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SW 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.23, T.8 N., R.9 E., Dane County, WI, Hydrologic Unit 07090001, at northbound bridge on Highway 113.
DRAINAGE AREA - 114 mi² of which 36.6 mi² probably is noncontributing.
REVISIONS HISTORY - The 2003-2017 water year peak annual streamflow data were previously published as maximum daily mean. The data were revised in 2022 to reflect maximum instantaneous discharge.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS

GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Side-looking velocity meter system. Datum of gage is 840.00 ft above NAVD88, from GPS.
REMARKS - Records fair except those for estimated discharges which are poor. For records status prior to October 1, 2013, see remarks printed in annual water-data reports. Gage-height telemeter at station.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Peak of record discharge of 1,700 cfs, 13.17 ft gage height, occurred March 15, 2019.

PERIOD OF DAILY RECORD - SUSPENDED SEDIMENT DISCHARGE: January 2002 to current year. TOTAL PHOSPHORUS DISCHARGE: January 2002 to current year. DISSOLVED ORTHO-PHOSPHORUS DISCHARGE: October 2010 to current year.
INSTRUMENTATION - Refrigerated autosampler since January 2002.
REMARKS - Load records are fair. Samples are point samples unless otherwise noted. Daily loads and concentrations generated using GCLAS (Graphical Constituent Loading Analysis System) using linear interpolation between sample concentrations. For WY2013 and prior, a log-linear interpolation was used.
